NutriEV at TURSEV 2025

The NutriEV project is pleased to announce that Professor Seppo Vainio, Coordinator of the NutriEV project and Research Director at the University of Oulu, has been invited as a Plenary Speaker at the upcoming 2nd Extracellular Vesicles Conference (TURSEV-26), which will take place at Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Türkiye on June 5-6, 2026

Professor Vainio will deliver a plenary lecture entitled:

High Tech Return to Nature via the Garden of EVe

In this presentation, Professor Vainio will explore how cutting-edge technologies are opening new pathways to understand nature’s own communication systems. The lecture will focus on the emerging role of extracellular vesicles (EVs) as natural carriers of biological information and their potential to transform future approaches to nutrition, diagnostics, and therapeutics.

Drawing on discoveries from the NutriEV project, the presentation will highlight how nutritional extracellular vesicles (nutriEVs) derived from plants and fermented foods may influence gut health, metabolic regulation, and obesity-related pathways. It will also showcase how advances in molecular biology, biosensing technologies, and precision nutrition are enabling researchers to uncover previously hidden mechanisms of communication between food, the microbiome, and human health.

The plenary session reflects the growing international interest in EV research and its potential to inspire innovative solutions for some of today’s most pressing health challenges.

We are honoured to see NutriEV represented at this prestigious scientific event and look forward to sharing insights from our ongoing research with the global EV community.
