FISEV 2025 Annual Meeting

February 6-7, 2025 – Turku, Finland
The NutriEV project will be presented at the annual meeting of the Finnish Society of Extracellular Vesicles (FISEV) on February 6 and 7, 2025, in Turku, Finland. A large representation from the project’s coordination entity, the University of Oulu, will be attending this meeting, which will offer a valuable opportunity for researchers and industry professionals to engage with the latest developments in EV research -particularly in the context of immunology- and to explore new collaborative possibilities within the Finnish EV research community.
Susanna Kosamo, Research Manager at the university’s Developmental Biology Laboratory: Organogenesis & Extracellular Vesicles department and a NutriEV team member, will be presenting the poster “Development of Nutritional Vesicles for Precision Diagnostics and Therapeutics for Metabolic Diseases“. This presentation will serve as a general introduction to the project and its objective of decoding the composition of nutrient-enriched EVs, with a specific focus on glycans.
Postdoctoral Scientist Feby Pratiwi and MSc Pradnya Patil will be presenting the poster “Cloudberry nanovesicles as potential oral drug delivery vesicles: Stability in gastrointestinal conditions and biodistribution in young and elder mice”. This poster describes the department’s study on the effect of the gastrointestinal environment on the stability of cloudberry-derived nanovesicles (CNVs), with these findings representing the first steps toward one of the NutriEV project’s goals: deciphering the involvement of plant-derived nanovesicles in human health.
Other NutriEV team members attending and presenting various extracellular vesicle-related posters and other projects from the department include Ramila Mammadova, Susanna Kaisto, Anatoliy Samoylenko, and NutriEV project coordinator Seppo Vainio.
